In 2023 I’ve watched stuff, here’s some of that, ordered by my own taste in the moment I wrote this:

i. GROUNDHOG DAY

i’ve watched it in the morning and i had the most productive day afterward. i should probably watch it every morning.

ii. INU-OH

so fucking cool…shamisen rocks hard. and it’s not even about music but about representation and self-expression

iii. BOWFINGER

the funniest movie i watched this year and i can’t explain why. this is the first movie that made me understand why steve martin is considered that good

iv. THE DECLINE OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION

vii. GRIZZLY MAN + WHITE DIAMOND

that fox in grizzly man really stole that mac-demarco-would-thrift hat! these two movies made me want to surf

so gross but in a good way

x. NATHAN FOR YOU + NATHAN FOR YOU: FINDING FRANCES

two years in a row with nathan fielder, but i doubt next year he will make the list, i’m not really digging the curse.

that scene with manny at the movie theatre while being at the movie theatre…i cried

xvi. BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD SEASON 1 and 2

honestly, if i didn’t saw this third season my whole view on twin peaks would have been way different (except of course fire walk with me that remains one of my favourite horrors) for the worse. this season really gave a whole different meaning to the series and i loved it
